We are Ben Mayich & George Bruney. It all began when we first met in 2020 and started

Golden State Barbers.

Working closely every day, it soon became apparent that we had the same strengths. Always pushing ourselves to be the best we could be, always wanting to be better and doing what ever it took to reach that next level of craftsmanship.

​

Both of us have always been people persons, being able to create the most hospitable & welcoming environments for all. After some time had passed and GSB had became a well respected and successful business, we found that we wanted to strive for more!

​

We’ve both always shared a deep love for music, with our passion rooted in house music and, more specifically, that raw underground sound.

 

It wasn’t long before we found ourselves going to events together, discovering new sounds, new places and creating memories along the way. Those experiences only brought our bond closer and became a huge part of the friendship that sits at the heart of Bela Moreno.

 

Some of our favourite events include FUSE, Eastenderz and Metamorphosis — just a few names that represent the underground scene we love.

 

There’s something truly special about London’s underground music scene, but our hearts will always have a place overseas. Ibiza in particular holds something different for us. The atmosphere, the music, the people and the freedom — we’ve always felt there’s nowhere quite like it.

 

Music has always been more than just something we listen to. It’s been part of our story, our friendship and ultimately, the culture that helped shape Bela Moreno.

Launching a clothing brand whilst being fully booked barbers was not easy! Being a completely self funded brand, we needed to keep cutting hair whilst setting everything up to keep the funds coming in. It was tough to say the least but we pushed through and made it happen!

 

You see the two of us by this point are more than just close work colleagues, we are brothers. Best friends that have been behind each other every step of the way on and off the playing field!

We relate through our love for music, fashion & food, but we are connected by our creativity, passion & drive to deliver the freshest garments only Bela Moreno can produce.
